Ali Ansarian said that the curricula for the Persian language and literature courses have been prepared by Iran’s Tehran University and Tarbiat Moallem University and Egypt’s Ein Shams University.
Ansarian stated that the Persian course has been approved by Syria’s Higher Education Council, and forty students have registered for the course for the next academic semester.
The details of the course were also reviewed by Tehran University Dean Reza Faraji-Dana and Syrian Minister of Higher Education Hani Murtada.
According to Ansarian, the Syrian Higher Education Ministry is determined to establish Persian departments at several other universities in Syria.
An Iranian delegation including Faraji-Dana and Mohammad-Ali Azarshab, the deputy head of the Literature Department of Tehran University, is currently in Syria.
Meanwhile, it was agreed that a group of Syrian scholars and students would be given the opportunity to continue their Persian language and literature studies at Tehran University.
The delegation also visited the dean of Albaath University in Homs and signed several agreements on bilateral cooperation.
