TEHRAN, Dec. 02 (MNA) – Iranian national team of freestyle wrestling claimed the title of Alrosa Cup, in Russia.

The two-day competition, which is also known as Absolute Cup Ivan Yariguin, kicked off on Saturday in Moscow with the participation of teams from Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. Every encounter between two teams consisted of 6 games in Olympic weight categories (57, 65, 74, 86, 97, and 125 kg).

In the freestyle section, the Iranian team managed to defeat all rivals and claim the title. Iran overpowered Azerbaijan 5-1, Uzbekistan 5-1, Russia 3-3 (14-10 in match points), and Georgia 6-0 in its four matches.

Russia finished runner-up and Azerbaijan stood third.
