TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with visiting French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Monday in Tehran and the two discussed bilateral relations.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian who is currently visiting Tehran met with his Iranian counterpart Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday at the central building of Iranian ministry of foreign affairs.

Prior to meeting with Foreign Minister Zarif, Mr. Le Drian who arrived early on Monday in Tehran, met with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed issues of mutual interest and a wide range of topics of including bilateral relations, the implementation of the JCPOA, US violation of the articles of the nuclear deal, , and regional issues, especially Syria and Yemen.

Referring to the principle based stances of France and Europe towards the JCPOA, Mr. Zarif lashed out at some of the European officials' behaviors and stances in regards with the nuclear agreement of 2015, between Iran and Sextet. He also criticized Europeans for being under the influence of US.

He added: "The achievement as a multilateral agreement that Europe has been contributing to and has been fully complied with by Iran's IAEA report, is currently undergoing illogical and political games of work Americans that Europe can play a more constructive role in maintaining that international achievement and, above all, while fully fulfilling its obligations, will push the United States to fulfill its obligations in the pursuit of the United States and not allow the United States, Violations, irrational and non-legal claims.

“The JCPOA, which was brokered by Europe’s contributions and according to 10 reports of the IAEA has been fully observed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, is currently played by illogical and politicized games of Americans,” reiterated Mr. Zarif.

“In addition to being able to play a more constructive role in preserving this international achievement and complying with its commitments in it, Europe can also pose more pressure on US to abide by its commitments in the agreement to not let US to call for illogical and non-legal demands in addition to violating and breaching the agreement,” asserted Mr. Zarif.
“Protecting this diplomatic achievement should be important for all of us at the same level and paying verbal service to it is not enough,” highlighted the Iranian top diplomat.
