Iran to Compete in World Blind Sporting Events

TEHRAN, July 23 (Mehr New Agency) -- Iran will dispatch 28 blind and partially sighted sportsmen to the world competitions in Canada, on July 30.

The athletes will represent Iran in six fields of judo, weightlifting, goalball, swimming, track-and-field, and cycling.     

 

Ali-Mohammad Azizi is the only Iranian, who judge in the world judo competitions and Hajar Taktaz is the sole female Iranian competitor in the world athletics.

   

Canada will host the world men's and women's competitions on August 1-15.
