Sponsored by the Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan, the office with a library and audio-visual facilities, aims to familiarize Tajik university students with the Persian language and literature.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Iranian ambassador to Tajikistan Naser Sarmadi-Parsa said that 14 cultural offices have been opened in Tajik universities over the last decade, demonstrating cordial cultural-scientific associations. Considering the historic cultural ties, the Iran-Tajikistan relationship should be developed in all arenas, he reiterated.
Slaviani University education deputy Rahman Almasov said that Persian is the ancestral language of Tajik; so, there is a great interest in learning the Persian language and writing. Accordingly, several Persian language and writing courses are to be established at Slaviani University by the next academic year.
Slaviani University, with its high academic standing, is administered by the Russian Ministry of Higher-Education. Its degrees are accepted in Russia.
