Kazerun steam unit comes on stream tomorrow

TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (MNA) – The steam unit of Kazerun combined cycle power plant comes on stream tomorrow, Iran Power Development Company Managing Director said here on Wednesday.

Energy Minster Parviz Fatah will be attending the inauguration ceremony, Mohammad Behzad added.

 

“The nominal production capacity of the steam unit of Kazerun combined cycle power plant is 1266 MW. The unit consists of 6 gas units and 2 D-MHI 701 units each with 125 MW, 4 V94/2 units each with 159 MW and 3 steam units each with 160 MW production capacity,” he explained.

 

“The power plant cost $520 million,” he said, adding that Iranian experts’ engineering capabilities and domestic equipment were mainly used in the construction of the power plant.

 

The Kazerun combined cycle power plant is one of the largest plants in southern Iran and will improve power supply stability in the region.
