Thought of making nuclear bomb forbidden in Islam: Kashani

TEHRAN, Nov. 9 (MNA) -- Massacre of innocent nations is forbidden in Islam and therefore “production of nuclear bomb or even having it in mind is forbidden by Islamic sharia (law),” Tehran Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani said here on Friday.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is the country’s most senior official, has clearly proscribed production and use of nuclear weapons, he told worshippers at Friday prayers.

He also said that the hegemonic powers are targeting “security, peace of mind, and economic activities” in Iran.

The enemies create disturbances in the borders, plan internal terrors, wage psychological warfare by threatening military action, and impose sanctions in order to hinder the country’s economic activities, he explained.

Even though the International Atomic Energy Agency has announced many times that it has found no evidence that Iran is seeking nuclear arms the U.S. and its main ally Israel claim that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.

In order to ally any concerns about the nature of its nuclear activities Tehran has signed a deal with the IAEA to clear up the remaining questions about its nuclear activities. The IAEA director Mohamed ElBaradei has called the agreement “an important step in the right direction.”

Iran has signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its nuclear energy quest is solely for electricity generation.

Not being able to hide their anger over the IAEA’s realistic and technical reports about Iran’s nuclear activities Israeli officials have called for the dismissal of the IEAE chief.
