Red stains removed from Persepolis

TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (MNA) -- A team of experts from the Parseh and Pasargadae Foundation announced on Wednesday that they had successfully removed the red stains from the floor and walls of the Hadish Palace of Xerxes in Persepolis.

The stains were left by a film crew shooting a TV series in late December that used red liquid to represent blood in a scene.

The restoration team mixed and examined various solutions and finally formulated a new mixture which was able to completely clean up the stains.

The red liquid was used by the cameramen of “Zero Degree Orbit”, an IRIB TV series being directed by Hassan Fat’hi.

Several days before the incident, a member of the same production crew damaged two bas-reliefs depicting Achaemenid soldiers on the wall of the Artaxerxes Palace in Persepolis.

The offenders have been arrested and the site’s guards have confiscated all their equipment.
