He noted that the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has taken the charge of commissioning Amak project, and has been committed to put it into operation in winter. “The project will be ready for commissioning in winter as previously agreed,” he added.
Bijanfar explained that four units of Amak project have already come on stream and are connected to the gas supply network.
He further explained that so far, 7.8 billion cu. m light gas has been produced in the commissioned units of Amak project.
He stated that presently and in normal conditions, nearly 8,500 barrels of NGL plus 66 million cu. m of gas are produced per day.
Abolhassan Khamushi, the managing director of Oil Engineering and Development Company had previously told the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) that four units for collecting the associated gas of Amak project had been completed and put into operation in September. He had also said that by completing the main four units for collecting the gases as well as conveying the extra gases, Amak project would be totally completed.
According to ISNA, the final product of Amak project is 182 million cu. m light sweet gas. The direct products constitute of 210 million cu. m sweetened gas, 5,000 barrels sweet condensates, and 500 barrels sour liquefied gases.
Moreover, 9,450 barrels propane, 6,560 barrels butane, and 5,680 barrels natural gasoline are produced via the direct products of the said project per day.
The whole budget required for Amak project stands at $530 million and is provided via the buy-back contracts and the internal resources of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
