Iran’s Navy 'first power in region'

TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said that the Navy Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran is equipped with the most experienced and creative manpower and is ranked first in the region.

He made the remark late on Mon. during his meeting with the Leader’s representative in India Mehdi Mahdavipour on the sidelines of the 10th establishment anniversary of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS).

In this meeting, Khanzadi expounded on the objectives of mission and trend of formation of IONS Summit and successful hosting of the Islamic Republic of Iran in organizing this summit.

Mahdavipour pointed to the cultural influence of Iran in the world and Indian Subcontinent and said, “the two countries of Iran and India share cultural commonalities.”

Mahdavipour referred to the strategic significance of India for the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, “India is home to over 100,000 books which have been authored in the field of Islamic Thought.”

For his part, Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi pointed to the pioneering naval power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and said, “benefitted from the most experienced and creative manpower, today, Iran’s Navy is the first power in the region.”

Turning to the attachment of modern destroyers and submarines to the Navy Force of Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the very near future, he placed special emphasis on the influence of Iran’s Navy in international waters in line with securing interests of the country.

Under the auspicious of the Islamic Revolution, not only Islamic Republic of Iran has not lagged behind the other countries in this respect, but also it [Iran] has been able to independently manufacture all its defense parts and equipment, he noted.

Iran does not depend on any country in the field of provision of defense equipment, Khanzadi highlighted.
