Khanzadi departs for India to attend IONS anniversary

TEHRAN, Nov. 10 (MNA) – Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi departed for India to participate in the 10th anniversary of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) establishment.

India is going to hold a special meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of establishing IONS, he said, adding that 32 countries attend the event.

The Indian Ocean is a very important region for the whole world and its security is of great significance, he added.

Touching upon Iran’s presidency over IONS for next two years, the Navy Commander said that Iran has formulated different plans to take decisive steps towards arriving at collective security in the Indian Ocean.

Khanzadi will address the event besides having numerous meetings with heads of other countries’ delegations.

The Indian city of Kochi hosts the event on November 13 and 14.
