‘Umbra’ accepted into 43rd TIFF

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) – Iranian short ‘Umbra’ directed by Saeid Jafarian has been accepted into the competition section of 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada.

After its screening at the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, ‘Umbra’ will now enjoy its second high-profile screening at the prestigious film festival of Toronto in Canada.

Directed by Saeid Jafarian, 'Umbra' is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that her partner has gone missing. Worried, she goes out to seek her partner in the darkness of the streets.

Founded in 1976, the Toronto International Film Festival is considered as one of the largest and most prestigious events of its kind in the world. The festival describes itself as a “charitable cultural organization with a mission to transform the way people see the world through film.”

The 43rd edition of the event will be held on 6-16 September 2018 in Toronto, Canada.
