Foreign Ministry raps Saudi attack on civilians in Yemen

TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – The spokesperson of Iran’s Foreign Ministry censured Saudi bombings of Thursday which killed over thirty civilians and injured around a hundred others in Hudaydah port city of western Yemen.

“Unfortunately the indifference undertaken by other countries and international communities along with selling various arms and military equipment to Saudi Arabia, have made the Saudi regime more audacious in attacking the defenseless people of Yemen,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the spokesperson of Iran’s Foreign Ministry early on Friday in response to Saudi warplanes bombardment of civilian areas in Yemen on Wednesday and Thursday which have claimed the lives of around 30 civilians so far.

The Iranian diplomat also offered sympathies to the bereaved families victimized by Saudi air raids on Yemeni civilian sites and severely condemned the murder of women and children in Yemen by Saudis.

“The meaningful hush of some western countries about the murder of civilians in Yemen and continuation of arms provision for Saudis certainly makes them more abhorrent for the general public of the world as an accomplice of Saudis in crimes against women and children,” asserted Mr. Ghasemi on Friday.
