The 32nd edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival, with some 3,600 screen productions from 108 countries, has seen a 20 percent increase in the number of film submissions as compared to the previous edition of the event.
The applicants could submit their short films by May 31 in five different sections of the international competition, Asia in competition section, section of World against Violence and Extremism, Islamic World films section, and the non-competition video art section.
Organized by the Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS), the festival is held to evaluate and introduce the best productions of Iran and other countries, foster young short film makers, promote film education and provide an opportunity for international exchange through cultural activities.
The Iranian Youth Cinema Society produces some 1800 short films every year many of which have been screened in a number of international festivals.
The 32nd Tehran International Short Film Festival will take place on 11-17 November, 2015.
