TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – Taliban authorities have confirmed an explosion in Dasht-e-Barchi, Kabul, Afghanistan, late on Tuesday, saying that seven people were killed.

Authorities are maintaining heightened security after an explosion in Kabul's Dasht-e-Barchi area late Nov. 7, online media Crisis 24 reported.

The blast left at least seven people dead and 20 others wounded. Taliban forces have confirmed that a blast occurred in a passenger bus. The exact cause of the blast remains unclear; however, it was likely caused by a bomb.

According to the local Afghan media Ariana News, the spokesman of the Taliban police command in Kabul announced,A"t least 7 people were killed and 20 others were injured in the explosion tonight in Dasht-e-Barchi."

He added that, "The explosion occurred in a city passenger car and the security forces have arrived at the scene of the incident for further investigations."
