Director General of South Khorasan Customs Department Mohammad Ali Khashi said the northwest Iranian province had deployed 2,565,000 tons of products worth 560,885,000 dollars over the first nine months of current Iranian calendar year (began March 21).
“In comparison with the same period last year, the figures represent growths of 37 and 24 per cent in weight and value, respectively,” he continued.
The official went on to enumerate major exported goods including tiles, ceramic, cement, poultry feed, diesel fuel, light hydrocarbon, tomato paste, rebar, distillate fuel oil and plastic.
Major destinations for exported items from South Khorasan Province include Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Armenia.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the current Iranian year, 1,814 kilograms of commodities worth one million and 443 thousand dollars where imported, which show declines of 65 and 78 per cent in weight and value.
Rice, sugar, sheep, cannabis, technical sodium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sesame seeds, ceramic tubes and bitumen as well as processing and packaging equipment are among the most important goods imported from Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Afghanistan, China and Ukraine, Khashi concluded.
