The film nabbed the Best Film Award while its actress Sareh Bayat bagged the Best Actress Award at the American film festival.
The event, annually, introduces new films to America’s cinema; this year Rafei’s work competed with films from the US, Canada, Cuba and France.
The Oblivion Season had attended the festival’s competition section.
Sarvin Bayat, sister of Sareh Bayat, who had attended the event as a representative, accepted the awards.
Alizera Barazandeh was also a nominee for the Best Cinematography section.
The Iranian flick won the best film award at the Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF) in Romania last week.
The film has already bagged several awards at international festivals including the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in New Jersey, and Hudson Festival in New York as well as the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.
It narrates the story of an Iranian woman who starts a new life by marrying her loved one, but her dark past will not stop chasing her and she faces trouble even though she is supported by her husband.
The cast includes Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendegani and Shahin Taslimi.
