Judo Federations Says 16 Countries Ready for Fajr Int’l Event

TEHRAN, July 6 (Mehr News Agency) – Iran’s Judo Federation (IJF) Sunday announced that 16 countries have so far voiced their readiness for participation in the annual Fajr international tournament.

According to the IJF, Palestine, Bangladesh, Albania, Kuwait, Tajikistan, Algeria, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, India, Syria, and Turkmenistan are the states that expressed their willingness to compete in the 12th international tourney.

 

The federation said the venue of competitions was shifted and Haftom-e Tir Hall, central Tehran, replaced the 12,000-seater hall of Azadi Sports Complex, 10km west of Tehran.

 

Last year, 17 foreign and five domestic teams took part in the international judo event.

 

Iran holds different international athletic events to celebrate the Ten-Day Dawn, the period the Islamic Revolution was culminated in 1979.
