Media in Syria reported renewed fierce fighting between SDF backed by US troops and HTS-led regime's forces in the east of the city of Aleppo on Tuesday afternoon.
The SDF said that the HTS regime's forces started shelling the Sheikh Maqsood District and which was confronted by the Kurdish-led SDF forces.
Local Al-Ikhbariya of Syria news channel's correspondent reported that one Jolani regime's army soldier was killed and three others were wounded during the SDF attacks on the outskirts of the Castillo district in Aleppo.
Meanwhile, a military source told Al Jazeera that one soldier was killed and four others were wounded during the SDF drone attack in Aleppo.
Moreover, the SDF forces also reported that groups affiliated with Damascus targeted Deir Hafr, which was full of civilians.
The SDF announced, "We hold to account for the consequences of this dangerous tension on the shoulders of groups affiliated with Damascus. Our forces have the right to respond to attacks to defend the people and maintain security and stability in our region.
Al Jazeera correspondent reported the sound of gunfire and heavy fighting near the Shekhan Square in Aleppo.
Hours earlier, Al-Ikhbariya news channel reported, citing a Syrian military source: The Syrian army, after identifying the launch sites, began targeting the SDF drone launch sites in the vicinity of Deir Hafer, east of Aleppo.
The source announced that the SDF drone attacks resulted in the injury of more than 6 civilians and military police, and that the army's response would be limited.
The resumption of fighting between the SDF and HTS-led regime led by self declared president Abu Muhammad Al-Jolani's forces comes after the unsuccessful meeting between the SDF commander Mazloum Abdi and regime's officials in Damascus.
Today's fighting was the first in kind between the two sides in Aleppo after their fierce clashes on Decx. 22nd, 2025.
