The Office has independently verified the killing of 211 journalists in Gaza since 7 October 2023, including 28 female journalists.
According to UNESCO, at least 47 journalists were killed while on duty.
According to the Palestinian government media office in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces have so far arrested 48 journalists, and many of them have been tortured in detention.
