Iranian, Saudi foreign ministers discuss boosting cooperation

TEHRAN, Apr. 15 (MNA) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia held a phone conversation to discuss the regional and international cooperation between Tehran and Riyadh.

In a phone conversation on Sunday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan discussed the relations between Tehran and Riyadh, as well as the latest regional developments.

The top Iranian diplomat spoke about Tehran's diplomatic efforts and measures in the past two weeks to legally and internationally pursue the illegal Israeli actions.

He also said that the country's retaliatory attack against Israel was a legitimate defensive action in the framework of Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.

The top Saudi diplomat, for his part, emphasized the need for expanding the regional and international cooperation between the two countries.

In response to the Israeli terrorist attack on Iran's consulate building in Syria on April 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked targets in occupied Palestine with dozens of drones and missiles early on Sunday.

The Israeli regime attacked Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on April 1. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.

Seven of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisors were martyred following the Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus.
