Iran’s indoor hockey becomes runner-up in Asia

TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Iran's men's hockey team came second in Asian indoor hockey championships after suffering a defeat against Malaysia.

Iran's men's indoor hockey team faced Malaysia today (Monday) in the Asian indoor hockey final and lost 2-1 to its southeastern opponent on the penalty shootout. 

At the end of the tournament, Amirmahdi Mirzakhani from Iran won the title of man of the match after scoring 13 goals.

The teams of Kazakhstan and Indonesia came in third and fourth place, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Iranian women's national hockey team finished Asian competitions in fifth place on Sunday.
