Iran, Russia to boost academic coop.

TEHRAN, Dec. 01 (MNA) – Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and the renowned Sechenov University of Moscow signed a deal on Saturday to boost mutual scientific collaboration and academic exchanges.

During a visit by the Chancellor of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Mohammad Aghajani to the Moscow-based university, the two sides singed an academic deal and discussed ways of expanding mutual collaborations. 

As per the agreement, Shahid Beheshti University and Sechenov University will expand cooperation in joint research projects, holding training courses, exchanging students and professors, and transferring technology.

According to Afshin Zarghi, the vice chancellor of Shahid Beheshti University, during their previous talks in October, the two sides had also agreed upon establishing a joint workgroup with a special focus on ‘medical training’.

“Deals have been signed with Sechenov University to hold joint residency courses in cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, dermatology, pediatrics, women’s surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, radiology, and Ph.D complementary courses in the fields of pharmacy and paramedics,” he added.

Zarghi noted the scope of the cooperation could scale in case of consent between the two sides.

Sechenov University is the first and largest research medical school in Russia. Shahid Beheshti University is also prominent medical training center and one of the most prestigious universities in Iran.
