Parl. National Security Commission to mull over CFT

TEHRAN, Nov. 04 (MNA) – Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) will be studied in the Parliament.

Chairman of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh made the above remark on Sunday and said, “the bill on Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) will be reviewed in the first session after the inspection of representatives to constituencies.”

The Guardian Council has objected more than 20 provisions of the bill, so that CFT will be studied in this Commission meticulously, he maintained.

In this paragraph, it has been said that some defects raised on the bill are uncorrectable and run contrary to the national interests, he said, adding, “accordingly, the mentioned bill contradicts with the rules and regulations stipulated in the country.”

Parliament National Security Council will announce its opinion in the plenary session. If approved, CFT bill will be forwarded to the Expediency Council (EC) for final approval, he opined.

For his part, Abbasali Kadkhodaei Spokesman for the Guardian Council in his twitter announced, “the Guardian Council examined the bill of accession of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Convention of Countering the Financing of the Terrorism (CFT) in various sessions.”
