TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) – In a message to commemorate the National Navy Day, Iranian defense minister announced that his ministry will do its best to equip the country’s Army Navy with more advanced technology.

Speaking on the occasion of National Navy Day, on the 6th of Azar (27th of November), Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General Amir Hatami congratulated the navy forces saying, “Nov. 27 brings back the glorious memories of the days when the brave men of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran fought against the aggressor with a high morale and defended the country at the advice of the Leader.”

According to the Department of Public Relations of the ministry, Hatami announced in the message that they will join their efforts to enhance the capabilities of the Navy and equip the forces with most advanced technologies.

On this day in 1980 the armed forces of the Army responded to the attacks by Saddam’s regime forces and destroyed Ba’athist Iraq targets in defense of the Iranian islands, ports, coasts and waters in the Persian Gulf.
