TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – ‘Flatland’ directed by Alireza Keymanesh and Amir Pousti has scooped Best Video Art award at the 2nd European Film Festival Mainstream & Underground in Russia.

‘Flatland’ directed by Alireza Keymanesh and Amir Pousti, and produced by Hamidreza Sayyad Daryabakhsh, is loosely based on a novella with the same title by English author Edwin Abbott Abbott, which narrates the life experience of geometric shapes in the one-, two-, three-, or even higher dimensional worlds. Each of these shapes is only capable of understanding the dimensions of its own world and denies the existence of other worlds with dimensions more than the one it is inhabiting.

The video was shot from the top of a skyscraper in an urban area from a high vantage point in a way that each performer is seen as a mere spot.

The 2nd edition of European Film Festival Mainstream & Underground was held in Moscow, Russia, on 7 October 2017.
