Mr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Mr. Bashar al-Jafari, Syrian permanent envoy to the UN discussed on Wednesday the latest developments in Syria especially following evacuation of terrorists from Aleppo and the defeat they sustained in the hands of Syrian government forces earlier this month; “it was public resistance loyal to Bashar Assad along with government forces that precipitated Aleppo success; now with the situation opened up for humanitarian aid, the international community should accelerate the pace of humanitarian aid delivery to Fua, Kfarya, and other regions which had been suffering under the atrocity of terrorists,” he suggested.
“Tehran will stand with Syria until the nascent political process completes and establishes a national unity government; Iran and Syria are crucial in Islamic world and to the existence of the Resistance front; however, the current situation where Syria is the save haven for terrorists is far from satisfactory and they should immediately be forced to leave the country,” Amir-Abdollahian told al-Jafari. “The regional players who seek to use terrorists as their trump cards are in a grave condition since support for terrorist would backfire, hitting their supporters.”
Mr. al-Jafari for his part, hailed Iran’s effective role in fighting terrorism and as a staunch ally of Syria in hard times; “Iran has been pioneer in fighting Takfirist terrorists; humanitarian crisis in Syria should be addressed through proper means in coordination with Syrian government by implementing UN resolutions,” he said. “Zionist regime actively supports Takfirists, especially Al-Nusra Front (now better known as their self-designated name Fath al-Sham Front); we express gratitude for support lavished by Iran’s Leader and government on behalf of the Syrian people and government,” al-Jafari concluded.
