Mohammad Taqikhani, who was speaking in the ceremony of introducing new directing manager of the provincial Red Crescent Society of South Khorasan, said that in the times of the natural disasters, “Red Crescent Society provides the first and immediate aid to the affected people,” and that “the Society should be improved in terms of capabilities and facilities it uses.”
He praised the Society as ‘serving the public with love,” which “promoted the culture of altruism and love of fellow human beings.”
Taqikhani pointed to 1997 devastating quake of Tabas as one of the most heartbreaking event; “strengthening the Society would help manage the affairs in critical conditions like that,” he said.
He stressed on the importance of air rescue services as country’s most pressing need; “love of service is an asset for the Society who is a great name in the country and the region as well,” Taqikhani asserted, announcing the future establishment of special university and educational center for Red Crescent and the Red Cross in the country, which would turn the Iran’s Red Crescent Society into the heart of the world’s Red Crescent societies.
He also pointed to the province’s excellent potentials in terms of public contribution to the Society; “the more youth participates in the Society’s activities, the more efficient human capital would be identified,” he added.
