TEHRAN, Mar. 14 (MNA) – An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale has hit Faryab County in Kerman Province, southern Iran a few minutes ago.

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 16:24 local time on Sunday at the depth of 18 kilometers.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 28.16 degrees longitude and 57.02 degrees latitude.

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
