TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – Islamic Development Organization [IDO]’s Chief Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Qomi said that ensuring people’s health is a red line during Muharram ceremonies.

He made the remark on Friday noting that mourning ceremonies in Muharram must be held with health protocols in place.

“Ensuring the health of the people in the religious ceremonies is a red line for us, however, by observing Arafa Day, we saw that holding these religious rituals is possible with health protocols in place,” he added.

He went on to say that shutting down religious ceremonies is not necessary as long as health protocols are observed.
