Under the agreement inked in this regard, it is supposed that Iranian knowledge-based companies active in the field of agriculture and biotechnology will export their products themselves to African countries, he maintained.
Agriculture plays an important role for spurring economy in African countries in a way that ‘employment’, ‘economy’ and ‘productions’ of African countries are based on agriculture, he said, adding, “Biotechnology Development Department intends to pave suitable way for permanent presence of Iranian knowledge-based companies working in the field of biotechnology through the creation of scenic agricultural farms and appropriate spaces.”
Also, providing the suitable ground for export of products of knowledge-based companies working in the field of agricultural biotechnology and promoting the agricultural biotechnology in Uganda through the introduction of bio-farming methods are of the main duties of the Biotechnology Development Department as stipulated in this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), he opined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said, “transfer of technical knowhow and knowledge as well as conclusion of contracts for the transfer of technology between Islamic Republic of Iran and Uganda are of the other missions of the Biotechnology Development Department.
Vice Presidency’s Director of Biotechnology Development Department Mostafa Ghanei said that bio-fertilizers are a product that can have a good and lucrative market in African countries, adding, “this product has been highly welcomed, so that it has been produced by a domestic knowledge-based company.”
