TEHRAN, Feb.1 (MNA) – Iranian official Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Thu. that Washington is blackmailing Tehran by taking the 2015 nuclear deal hostage, referring to US constant threats to withdraw from the agreement.

“The US is blackmailing Tehran by taking the JCPOA hostage,” Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a tweet on Thursday.

He addressed the US President Donald Trump, who has been the most vocal in his criticism of the nuclear agreement, going so far as to call it the “worst deal ever” and threatening to withdraw from it, adding “[Tehran] is not Riyadh where you can steal half a billion dollars by bouncing along to a sword dance.”

“In the 40 years since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has persisted on the path of prosperity and resistance, and we will safeguard our achievements, national security and constructive regional influence with all our might,” he concluded.
