TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (MNA) – Mahdi Pourrahnama and Asghar Azizi won gold medals at IWAS World Games 2017.

The 7th IWAS World Games 2017 is held in the sports facilities of Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Portugal from November 30 to December 6.

Mahdi Pourrahnama (-75 kg) won the final game against Turkey’s Fatih Celik and took the championship title for para taekwondo on the first day of the games.

Asghar Azizi (+75 kg) defeated Turkey’s Bayram Kayan and won the second gold medal for Iran.

Mahmoud Jafarzadeh (-75 kg), another Iranian contender in para taekwondo was beaten by Fatih Celik into the third place in IWAS 2017 world games.

Payam Khanlarkhani coaches Iran’s para taekwondo team, assisted by Mahdi Ahmadi.

In these games, the first place gains 60 points, the second place 36 points and the third place 24.60 points for 2020 Tokyo Olympic games quotas.
