TEHRAN, Sep. 17 (MNA) – Iranian archers have claimed two gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the 2017 World Archery Para Championships in Beijing.

Iran’s compound women open team comprising Somayeh Abbaspour, Razieh Shirmohammadi and Farzaneh Asghari defeated host country China 229-223 and won the championship title at the World Archery Para Championships in the Chinese capital. The Russian team finished third by defeating Italy.

Meanwhile, Iran’s compound men open team comprising Hadi Nouri, Ali Sina Manshazadeh and Ramazan Biabani faced their Italian rivals at the finals but failed to secure the first place and finished runner-up. The US managed to defeat Russia and claim third place.

Also, Iran’s mixed compound team comprising Sina Manshazadeh and Somayeh Abbaspour conceded defeat to their Russian rivals and grabbed the silver medal at the international tournament. UK defeated Italy and finished third place.

On Sat., Iranian two-time Paralympic Champion Zahra Nemati earned a gold medal in women's individual recurve open with a 6-2 win over her Turkish opponent. In recurved mixed team open, Iranian archers managed to finish third and earn a bronze medal.

The 2017 World Archery Para Championships ran 12-17 September in Beijing, China.
