Painting Exhibition to Open at Ahar Sheikh Shihab Ad-din Museum

Born in Kalat, Khorasan Province, in 1262 (A.H.), Jalayer was undoubtedly one of Iran’s most eminent artists.

In 1280 A.H., to accomplish his painting education, Jalayer moved to Tehran with his father and registered at Dar al-Fonun School. In a very short time, he was able to attract public attention as a talented artist. He also taught painting at Dar al-Fonun during this time.

Oil paints, calligraphy, and watercolor paintings are among the media of his works.

A painting depicting Ismail (AS) offered for sacrifice to God by Abraham (AS) is his most well-known work in oil.     

Portraits housed at Golestan Palace of Shams Tabrizi, Ohadi Maragheh’i, Bayazid Bastami, Babataher, Nur-Ali Shah, Moshtaq-Ali Shah, and Ma’sum-Ali Shah, are his most famous watercolor paintings.
