PJAK leader Abdul Rahman Haji Ahmadi was arrested in his apartment near Cologne, Germany, on Friday. He was released later.
German ambassador Bernd Erbel said his government does not support the elements affiliated with PJAK terrorist group and promised to convey Iran’s message to the German government and inform the Foreign Ministry about the results.
On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast described the arrest of PJAK leader Abdolrahman Haji Ahmadi as a sham since the terrorist ringleader was allowed to go free.
Mehmanparast also said Europe has turned into a safe haven for terrorist groups.
PJAK is an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) which conducts terrorist acts in Iran’s Kurdish-populated regions.
