IRGC details operations that foiled foreign-backed riots

TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) – The IRGC Intelligence Organization released figures on arrests, weapon seizures, and counter-terror measures.

The Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued its third statement on the US-Israeli sedition on Friday, marking the anniversary of the Islamic months of Sha’ban and the Day of the Guardsman, while renewing its pledge to the families of those martyred in the recent unrest.

In the statement, the IRGC Intelligence Organization said the terrorist incidents in January were designed in the aftermath of the 12-day war and were carried out hastily following the strategic failures of the “system of domination.”

The statement said the incidents were part of a broader US-Israeli plan that was neutralized due to the preparedness of security and law-enforcement institutions and the vigilance of the Iranian people. It added that an enemy “command room” comprising 10 hostile and rival intelligence services was formed immediately after the 12-day war to coordinate terrorist actions inside Iran.

According to documents and intelligence obtained from this command structure, the operation was based on three pillars: internal unrest, military intervention, and the activation of group-based movements, aimed at creating an existential threat against Iran.

The IRGC Intelligence Organization said it responded by launching cognitive countermeasures and a series of intelligence operations to prevent and manage the scale, intensity, and scope of potential unrest. The targeted operational plans were implemented against the “internal unrest” and “group-based movement” pillars, resulting in:

The arrest or summons of 735 individuals linked to anti-security networks

Guidance and counseling of 11,000 vulnerable individuals

Awareness-raising efforts among at-risk social groups and professions

The seizure of 743 illegal military and hunting weapons

The identification of 46 members of networks cooperating with foreign intelligence services

The statement described the recent unrest as a weakened and redesigned form of the enemy’s combined operation aimed at destabilizing the Islamic Establishment and fragmenting Iran’s national and geographic unity.
