BRICS, SCO have paved suitable ways for independent states

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi says that BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have laid grounds for the independent states to counter unilateralism.

Speaking in the first meeting of the BRICS and SCO Coordination Headquarters, he stated, “At a time when unilateralism prevails, the BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organizations (SCO), which are based on multilateralism, are a good opportunity for independent countries.”

Turning to the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, the diplomat noted that the country held an online meeting with BRICS and SCO countries after the US-Israeli aggression against Iran in a way that BRICS group of the emerging economy and SCO member states totally condemned the aggression against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Gharibabadi emphasized, “At a time as the unilateralism dominates, international organizations such as BRICS and SCO, which are based on multilateralism, are good opportunity for the independent states.

One of the most significant reasons that Iran pursued its membership in these organizations is the important goal of multilateralism, the deputy foreign minister highlighted.
