Local sources in Syria reported that multiple explosions and gunfire were heard early on Saturday near Qudssaya, a district in the suburbs of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
No official statement has yet been issued by Syrian authorities, and the exact cause of the explosions remains unknown.
Qudssaya, located in western Damascus, is considered a sensitive and strategically important area from a security standpoint.
