Iran power consumption rate triple world figure

The global rate is about three percent while it is almost nine percent in Iran.

Hundred percent of the urban population and 99.5 percent of the rural population have been provided with electricity, said Mohammad Mussavizadeh, adding that the rapid rise in the energy consumption is the main challenge facing the industry.

He pointed to the electricity consumption in the province, central Iran, adding 70 percent of power is used in the production sector.
