US unable to keep anti-Iran sanctions in place

TEHRAN, Nov. 06 (MNA) – Parliament Speaker Special Aide on International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the US would be unable to keep sanctions against Iran in place, adding that Trump's wielding of the sanctions regime is nothing new to the Islamic Republic.

According to the official website of Iranian Parliament ‘ICANA’, Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian welcomed the expansion of parliamentary relations with Brazilian parliament, saying that parliamentary cooperation lays the ground for development of friendly bilateral relations between the two countries of Iran and Brazil in various fields. 

The Iranian official further said that there are areas for increasing bilateral cooperation which can benefit the two nations.

Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos, for his part, explained the areas in which Iran and Brazil are currently cooperating, adding that Brazil welcomes the growing trend of bilateral relations.

He also praised Iran for its positive role in establishing peace and stability in the region.

The Brazilian ambassador further attached great importance to expansion of bilateral parliamentary relations, saying that the imminent visit of Brazil-Iran friendship group to Iran is of great importance.
