“If we feel that the current negotiations are going to be abrasive or a waste of time, naturally we will stop negotiating,” said the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi, on Sunday.
Touching upon current negotiations with remaining signatory states of the JCPOA, the Iranian diplomat made the remarks, while answering the questions posed by the media after leaving a meeting with MPs in Iran’s parliament.
“The European countries have been demanded to take measures to secure Iran’s interests after US withdrawal from the agreement and they are required to hand in to Iran their proposals, strategies, and practical solutions to let us make our decision,” he added.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not yet decided whether to stay in the JCPOA or not and the final decision in this regard is left to the results of the negotiations with remaining members of the JCPOA in the next couple of weeks,” highlighted Mr. Araghchi.
