Iranian Leader's senior Advisor for International Affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati, said Ayatollah Khamenei has always sought to promote the true and righteous Islam in his various positions since the pre-Revolution era.
He added that the Leader, however, has never overlooked foreign countries as, during his presidency, he would pay due attention to Islamic organizations outside the borders, including in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan among the others.
On statements made by heads of Western countries on negotiating Iran’s military power, the official said “from the beginning of Islamic Revolution, they have been trying to make decisions on behalf of Iranian people. The great nation of Iran would not have overthrown the dictatorial regime of Pahlavi if they wanted the West to make decisions for them.
“The main difference between Islamic Republic of Iran and the Pahlavi regime is that the government now belongs to the people and a popular government is in charge of making decisions for the faith of the country,” he underscored.
He said the Westerners hold old-fashioned views and believes they can regains their0 lost influence; “this is a mistake they have repeatedly committed and the Islamic Republic of Iran would never allow anyone to interfere with its internal affairs.”
