Enemies seek to wage war among Muslims

TEHRAN, Nov. 22 (MNA) – The Secretary General of the World Islamic Awakening Assembly Ali Akbar Velayati said on Wednesday that the enemies of Islam are trying to keep Islamic countries in a state of division, sedition and war.

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the conference on the Followers of Ahl al-Bayt (family of Prophet Muhammad) and the problem of Takfiris.

The event will continue until tomorrow, 23nd of November.

He congratulated the victories in Iraq and Syria against the Takfiris and went on “it has been almost seven years now since Islamic awakening started and it opened a new stage in the political and social life of the Muslims.”

Velayati added "few years ago Muslim nations were at the gates of a new era in their political and social lives, suddenly sectarianism and takfirism started killing many innocent people and put the Islamic world in a difficult situation. The enemies of Islam are doing their best to divide and weaken the Islamic countries in order to dominate them.”

He also said that ”Islamic awakening movement has three features: anti-arrogant powers: anti-Zionist and anti-tyrannical regimes. It is an anti-American and anti-Zionist movement that has risen to power in some Islamic countries during last few years, and they have torn some tyrannical governments down and challenged the structure of the international system.”
