Rouhani:

JCPOA valuable success reached through national consensus

TEHRAN, Oct. 17 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani described the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a valuable achievement and success, achieved through national consensus, people's support and the Leader's guidance.

President made the remarks at a meeting with representatives of the Combatant Clergy Association in Tehran.

Politically, the current US administration's solitude in undermining the JCPOA and unity of the international community, especially Europe and other members of the P5+1 in supporting it and continued cooperation with Iran are other achievements of the deal, he continued.

President Rouhani described Islam and republicanism as two strong pillars of the Islamic System and the heritage of the Late Imam Khomeini.

President met with representatives of the Combatant Clergy Association on Monday and said the entire administration relies on people’s will and, at the same time, considers implementing Islamic decrees its duty.

Appreciating good relations of the Association with the administration, Dr. Rouhani added the entire administration is firmly determined to continue the good, cordial relations with the Combatant Clergy Association.

Stating the importance of cultural and social issues, he said the administration is working to manage various cultural issues and the cyberspace with a lot of attention.

On economic conditions of the country, he continued to stress cooperation among branches of the government and the pillars of the system to provide security for domestic and foreign investors and the private sector.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Combatant Clergy Association also congratulated Dr. Rouhani on his re-election as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and appreciated the administration for its efforts in foreign policy and political, economic and social fields.

They also appreciated President Rouhani's firm positions of Dr. Rouhani against greedy governments, including his quick, firm response to the latest US president’s words.
