Assad condoles Rouhani over terrorist attacks

TEHRAN, Jun. 08 (MNA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expressed heartfelt condolences to President Hassan Rouhani and to the friendly Iranian people over the deadly recent terrorist attacks.

In a phone call with his Iranian counterpart on Thursday, Bashar Assad expressed Syria’s strong condemnation of such terrorist acts, emphasizing that his country is standing by Iran in confronting terrorism and announcing the firm and absolute solidarity with the Iranian government and people.

President Assad pointed out that terrorists and their masters resort to such despicable way that stemms from their failure to undermine Iran, whatever means, in an attempt to impose political changes that serve their interests.

He stressed that Syria and Iran would be winners in confronting the fierce terrorism.

President Rouhani, for his part, thanked Assad over the condolences and solidarity, stressing that the incident would not affect the steadfastness and resilience of the Iranian people, who have become more determined to counter terrorism.

He reaffirmed his country’s standing by Syria in its war against terrorism until the restoration of security and stability, stressing that the two countries will continue together to combat terrorism despite all challenges.

Rouhani hailed the advance and achievements carried out by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies on the ground, expressing confidence that the two countries will beat the terrorist groups, which seek to undermine the security and stability of the whole region.
