Pres. Rouhani denounces Kabul terrorist attack

TEHRAN, Jun. 02 (MNA) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani issued a letter to his Afghan counterpart, President Ashraf Ghani, and condemned the Wednesday terrorist attack in Kabul.

“The disappointing news piece of terrorist blast in Kabul which killed and wounded the oppressed and Muslim people of Afghanistan caused pain in mind and deep sorrow,” reads the opening of the message sent by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani.

The message came after a deadly terrorist attack in Kabul killing over 90 people on Wednesday.

The Iranian president underlines that the timing of the attack in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims are observing fast shows that the perpetrators, commissioners, and supporters of such attacks had no privilege of Islam and its humanitarian teachings.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is standing by the government and nation of Afghanistan in this huge disaster the same way it has been acting so far,” reassures the Iranian president. He vows that Iran will continue its determined war on terrorism till complete eradication of terror and extremism.

Rouhani closes his message with extending sympathies to the people and government of Afghanistan and wishing quick recovery of the injured.
