Intruders should leave Syria

DAMASCUS, Jan. 05 (MNA) – Iran’s senior MP underlined Iran’s unwavering support for Syria and noted that the illegal presence of invaders should be ended.

Head of Parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi who is heading a delegation in Syria, held talks with President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday.

In a statement to journalists after the meeting, Boroujerdi reiterated Iran's support for Syrian-Syrian dialogue to reach a political solution for the crisis in Syria, stressing that Syria's fate must be decided by the Syrian people, and that any decision made outside Syria and is rejected by Syrians will not succeed.

He said that during the meeting he congratulated President al-Assad over the achievements that were made, discussed bilateral relations, and exchanged views regarding various issues, adding that the rapid developments in the region require more visits and exchanging of delegations, voicing hope that Iran will be part of the final victory over terrorism in Syria as soon as possible.

Regarding Iran's position on the Turkish transgression on Syrian territory, Boroujerdi said that the whole world knows that any state entering another state's territory outside the framework of international law constitutes occupation.

He also said that the presence of Iranian advisors and the Lebanese resistance in Syria is carried out in coordination with the Syrian government and upon its request, stressing that those who should leave Syria are the ones who entered it without permission or coordination with the Syrian government.
