Al-Muallem, Boroujerdi discuss Aleppo ceasefire

TEHRAN, Jan. 05 (MNA) – A delegation of Iranian Parliament had visited Syrian capital of Damascus just days after Aleppo ceasefire and evacuation of terrorists from the city by Syrian Army.

Syrian Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Muallem met the Iranian delegation, to discuss the situation and developments in Syria and the region in light of the important developments that took place recently in politics and on the ground.
He believed that after the victory in Aleppo, Syria agreed to the initiative proposed by Russia for the cessation of combat activities as an opportunity to resume Syrian-Syrian dialogue, which would lead to a political solution for the crisis in Syria without any foreign interference. 
Boroujerdi for his part, called for efforts to boost bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary relations. 
The delegation had also held talks with Syrian President Assad on Wednesday.
