Russians after Iranian long-range drone tech.

TEHRAN, Sep. 25 (MNA) – Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces said Sun. that Russians seek to obtain the technology of manufacturing the Iranian long-range drones, capable of targeting positions with one meter square surfaces.

Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri made the remark on Sunday during the ceremony of the new academic year for Iran’s Supreme National Defense University. While commemorating the Sacred Defense Week, which marks the 36th anniversary of the eight-year Iraqi war on Iran, he said “the Sacred Defense, aside from its more obvious aspects such as the acts of heroism and sacrifices, was also pivotal in the production of modern science and technology for future use.”

He went on to stress the role of wars in the production of various fields of science, adding “today, the anti-terrorist operations in Iraq and Syria can also lead to the production of science and technology.”

“For instance, the Iranian-manufactured long-range drones can target terrorists’ positions from a great distance and with a surface of one meter square,” he added.

“As of now, the Russians are after obtaining our technology for the manufacture of long-range drones with the precision of targeting areas with a one-meter-square surface,” Bagheri said. “Of course, the Americans are already in possession of such drones, and perhaps the Zionist regime, with the help of its American ally, also owns them.”

The Army chief of staff further maintained that Iran is currently faced with various threats, which requires more extensive research for boosting defense capabilities.
